and the stupidest villain is back...

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

God, Jonas has got to be the most annoying character this season...he's so lame as a villain too.

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

Yes. And I thought we already done with him. Author needs to come out with more interesting villain because this guy is lame af.

Grandpa Lampshade • 1 year ago

Yeah the first time around it was like, "Okay wow he really sucks the way he treated her".
Now what?
He acts like a slimy d-bag? Yeah we already know and have been there, done that with this story.
Redemption arc? I care less about that than the backstory of the gold digger girlfriend in that other anime this week.
I wish they would have went with a fresh plot device.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

I really don't like villains that never go away. Like Batman just throwing people in Arkham asylum again and again, so they can keep escaping over and over.

"If a character makes you feel extreme hatred towards them, that means they've succeeded as a character."

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

Nah. I don't hate him as a villain. I just found him lame and that obviously means it failed as a character.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

Maybe in pro wrestling haha. But I don't like pro wrestling. I like to see bad guys get punished, not just a slap across the face for attempted murder.

"I'll never lose to you!" Bitch, you lost to me a couple weeks ago. The fact that you stole my piece shows you know you aren't as good as me.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

I agree.

iCurvaceous • 1 year ago

He needs a better backstory to be considered a decent villain. Something so far they failed to provide that he should be confronting the MC on and thus causing her to hesitate and realize her own mistakes in the past and have some self growth, but there is no such thing so far, so its very one-sided.

Every time the MC sees him, she's like "Omg Jonas?!? hOw ArE yOu HeRe?1!?"

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

Jonas & Cathy are a combo of delusion & Dunning Kruger Effect, unless he greatly worked on improving being able to sculpt fine details, which in he's still wrong for never sincerely apologizing to Anne.

Dreamblade • 1 year ago

Kathy is delusion from being in love, Jonas is delusion from needing to win to overcome his own insecurities. They both act like Jonas is on the same level as Anne, when Jonas literally stole her work because he knew his own wasn't good enough.

Typecero • 1 year ago

I feel like Jonas is the main character at this point. We know more of his motivations, personality, and have seen him take more action than our MC.

I also want to rename this show "Sour Patch Kids" because of Jonas.

Just... I don't know who the editor was for this Light Novel, but that person should definitely have brought the red pen to their work and said "STOP USING THE SAME PERSON TO INCITE ALL YOUR CONFLICT!"

At least Team Rocket took vacations.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

I'd love if this happen, imagine the evil guy really winning <3
I'm rooting for Jonas!

ᗪonoᗪesu • 1 year ago

Had his henchmen the shortest screentime ever, lol.

WorldGN18 • 1 year ago

the only part of the episode I disliked, would have being much better if a new rival appeared, cuz now we know Anne will obviously win and Jonas will probably do something stupid again

GreenTea Gal • 1 year ago

it's been a while since i've actively wished harm on a fictitious character >.>

Guess he wants to get his butt kicked again.

Rannen 19 • 1 year ago

They should just kiss each other everybody happy hahaha..

Astolfo-kun • 1 year ago

Seeing the Duke's eyes light up for a second, must've meant a lot to him

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

I think there's a relationship between the rebellion and the fairy the duke loves.

She probably died in that rebellion.
Look at his eyes, depressed af.

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

Must subjugate the Duke. Vinland Style. Stakes and burning of castles and villages. Leave no survivors. No woman or child. Oops wrong show.

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

Wow! Can't believe those idiots didn't only being in denial, they even insulted the king. I really hoped there was a castle guard walking pass by and capturing them on spot. Talking about being too full of themselves.

Seems like we are going to see Jonas for a few more episodes. And when I thought we are already done with him. I think I can't stand seeing him anymore, TBH.

ᗪonoᗪesu • 1 year ago

We need him out of the opening too. >:(

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

Yeah, I didn't really want to encounter Jonas so soon after the stunt he pulled, hopefully we'll get another satisfying moment at the very least if we have to tolerate watching him again.

Porthya • 1 year ago

He gets to be a pest for this arc as well, and this time he's worse.

Chindian • 1 year ago

wait, there's something worse than theft and attempted murder?

Porthya • 1 year ago

Yes and yes. A repetition of those with some awful extra cruelties here and there. I was angry with the MCs AND Hugh for not dishing out some serious punishment for these "feats", but obviously the author is trying to get a specific philosophical point across I can't agree with, but some of the people I love do, irl, so here I am still

wwlaos • 1 year ago

You should show those people Jonas. :P

Of course it won't change their minds, but it'll give you something new to talk about with people you love irl. *shrug*

Porthya • 1 year ago

I would, unfortunatelly, only my best friend still watches anime, and she's very similar to me in temper and boundaries for tolerance and such 😅

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

Wow, Jonas STILL hasn’t learned his lesson yet? Don’t know how he didn’t foresee this turn of events, honestly. If he was able to be chosen for his skill, surely Anne, who’d already proven herself superior to him, could as well.

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

It's like he believes he truly made the sugar candy he had stolen from Anne lol.

Jack • 1 year ago

3 ep rule has never failed me like this one ;-;. Stupid character back and this time he got friends.....

ᗪonoᗪesu • 1 year ago

Those "friends" got the shortest screentime ever tho. Never to be seen again, lol.

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

It was nice to see the Duke's dead eyes come to life when he saw Anne's sugar candy, I'm sure she'll be able to bring more life into him with her completed candy.

Lol Jonas really thinks he's above Anne, it's hilarious considering he stole her work in the first place meaning he didn't believe he could match or surpass what she put out.

kurdbubbles • 1 year ago

Just kill him

looserr • 1 year ago

LMFAO

Porthya • 1 year ago

Ugh, they're starting to skip over stuff, like her barely making ends meet for inn lodgings and food and how Hugh saves them from a mess with a nasty innkeeper who wanted to get his clutches on Challe...they also stay the night at Hugh's castle and after Anne and Challe flirt a bit, Hugh tries to talk Challe into pushing Anne's hand to accept the apprenticeship, presumably for her own wellbeing.

Guest • 1 year ago
Porthya • 1 year ago

I didn't, because it helps drive her odd and too forgiving nature as a point home, those events would help establish Anne as having her own way of reacting to slights and hardships, even as most of us would reach a boiling point where she only finds more fuel for her resilience.

Viper • 1 year ago

It's not like they skip just because. They need to pick a proper ending arc for the 12/13 chapters, and that means skipping on some stuff to fit all the relevant plot within that frame.

Porthya • 1 year ago

Her general attitude as a craftsman in this trade, and not only in her dynamic with Jonas or nobles, is relevant, as is her gradually building relationship with Challe and the points of its development, even those being dragged in by Challe's past cause their romance needs inner drama.
And the first 2 volumes would fit just fine in this season, but they're senselessly rushing and they don't even bother with showing us the process of creating the sculpture, which, again, is relevant to the premise of the whole friggin' story. So, while the story in and of itself is interesting(though that is owed to the novelist), and the aesthetics are being rendered well, imho, the direction is poor.

LesK • 1 year ago

everything you mentioned is in the source for a reason, the author and the publisher's editorial staff wanted it that way. everything in the anime is there because: the director, screenwriters, publishers of the source, production committee, and the source author wanted it there. see the problem you didn't know you had with the problems in this anime vs the source?

"Too many cooks ruin the sauce." or in this case the anime, in your opinion. i've been watching anime since 1990 and nope... you aren't the first, last, or five billionth person to gripe about an anime adaptation of a source. visual and audio media vs printed text media. VAM will NEVER reach the detail level of PTM. that is the same with artistic media vs PTM and VAM. manga never adapt novels correctly 100% down to the last detail. even when the LN source author is the one doing the writing and somebody else does the art. 'stuff' HAS to be 'cut' out of the PTM during an adaptation to VAM. period. it will never be a line for line, word for word, detail by detail adaptation. never. so, just accept this FACT... and try and be happy your PTM got an anime adaptation in the first place. :)

Viper • 1 year ago

I won't argue with you in that regard. But, that is the direction the production commitee decided to take.

Porthya • 1 year ago

I realise that, I'm just saying I disagree with their choices for the aforementioned reasons.

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

Well, this is an awkward reunion....last time they met, Jonas tried to kill Anne and throw her under the bus.....***hole.

just go die Jonas, please you bothering Anne-chan 😅

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Anne sugar confection always amazes.

Nice episode.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Jonas why did you return just scram already.

Anne should punch him.
